🇦🇷 Mercado Libre has topped a LinkedIn-produced ranking of the 25 best employers in Argentina for the 2nd year in a row. The Argentine firm, which we’ve covered on a number of occasions, once more came ahead of historic majors such as JPMorgan Chase and ExxonMobil.
Latinometrics: Last year, the Montevideo-headquartered Mercado Libre topped $10.5B, a nearly 50% growth over 2021. While the company is present in 18 Latin American markets, Brazil remains its largest market—understandable, given that the percentage of Brazilian consumers shopping on international websites reached 72% in 2022, a 24% growth from 2019.
🇧🇷 Brazil received more than 1M Argentine tourists in the first trimester of 2023, surpassing the total number received in all of 2022. As Brazil’s local governments try to diversify their sources of tourism, they’re increasingly promoting advertising campaigns in strategic South American markets such as Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, & Uruguay.
