A mere 18% of you correctly guessed the Lost City of Z as the mythical site British explorer Percy Fawcett disappeared trying to find in 1925. Based on early indigenous histories of South America and his own explorations of the Amazon rainforest, Fawcett theorized that a complex civilization existed there, leaving behind isolated ruins. He named this supposed lost city “Z” (pronounced ‘zed’ in British English). Along with his son Jack, Fawcett disappeared looking for the Lost City of Z in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil. To this day, no trace of Fawcett or his party has ever been found.

🇧🇷 Brazilian government leaders are trying to reassure markets over tax change concerns, with the heads of the country’s two congressional chambers both stressing their current resistance to proposed government income tax reform. In response, the Brazilian real has rebounded following record intraday lows. Finance Minister Fernando Haddad has also confirmed the government may present new fiscal measures to slow spending and sustain a fiscal framework passed last year. Brazil’s public sector debt remains worrisome for investors, but the remarks by Haddad and congressional leaders emphasized a firm commitment to slashing the primary deficit.
