On Sunday, many Argentines and the world watched in shock as libertarian presidential candidate Javier Milei won Argentina’s runoff election. Milei, a controversial figure whose radical proposals we’ve discussed before, was seen as a fringe candidate as late as July. His victory comes in large part owing to a widespread dissatisfaction in Argentina with the incumbent Peronist government.
