Back in June, the Republic of India became the world’s most populous country, counting a national population of over 1.4B. Which makes it pretty impressive that Latin America & the Caribbean, with just about half that population, has an economy nearly double in size.
Yes, as a general region Latin America & the Caribbean is the world’s 4th-largest economy, driven primarily by its major players of Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. The region outperforms historic economic superpowers such as Japan and the United Kingdom, but falls behind the 27-member European Union, which consists of far more developed countries such as Germany and France.
