Notably, though, the US did get involved in the Thousand Days’ War at the turn of the twentieth century, with its navy enforcing Panamanian independence against Colombian wishes. Still a better experience than Mexico or the Dominican Republic has had!

🇧🇴 Bolivia has inaugurated its first biodiesel plant in the country’s biggest city, Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The plant is designed to produce 1.5K barrels daily, eventually replacing up to 48% of fuel imports.
Latinometrics: Bolivia is relatively late to the biofuel game—neighboring Brazil, for example, is a global leader when it comes to biofuels. But this is nonetheless an important step forward for the energy transition of one of Latin America’s least urbanized countries. No wonder President Luis Arce attended the inauguration!
🇲🇽 Mexico can expect to receive over $26B in new investments in the coming year based off new investment announcements so far since January. As companies seek to capitalize on Mexico’s strong labor force, trade relations, and favorable geographic position, it’s clear the country is on track for another record year of foreign dollars coming in.
