The correct answer to our last trivia, Guatemala, just barely eked out a victory with 40% of the vote and ahead of the incorrect runner-up answer of Peru. The small Central American country may not be the world’s largest exporter of much, but for cardamoms it certainly is.

🇦🇷 Javier Milei, an anarcho-capitalist economist and political outsider, successfully clinched victory in the Argentinean presidential run-off, the final major electoral contest for the region in 2023. Milei secured over 55% of the vote against his opponent, Minister of Economy Sergio Massa.
Latinometrics: Coming on the heels of a long chain of opposition victories across the region, Milei’s victory reflects a greater anger with the state of Argentina’s political system and finances today. The 53-year old president-elect, when he takes office on December 10th, will face an uphill battle in terms of getting his policy proposals passed by congress.
